All your Christmas events sorted

What great news this week for all of us. I mean, anyone who has been missing family from Victoria and Greater Sydney can finally be reunited from 1st December. Our kids have been missing their grandparents who they haven’t seen since January. That’s a lifetime for young kids! Now that we have confirmation we are open for Christmas, the question is….who’s coming to visit? In the meantime, while we wait for kindy, school, uni and work to end for the year, I thought I would let you know what Christmas events are coming up in Noosa and surrounds.

SANTA PHOTOS

Christmas at the Ginger Factory

Running 9th - 24th December

Daily 9:30am – 1:30pm

We checked out this free event last year. Seriously, this was the best Santa around and best of all it is free. The staff take your photo on your phone (hopefully this year too) then all ‘good’ girls and boys get a gift. And did I mention it’s free?

Beach Santa Sunshine Coast

Located: Happy Valley (Caloundra) Friday

Mooloolaba Saturday/Sunday

Seen your either holidaying here or a local why not get that Santa photo on the beach. For more details and to book search, facebook page: "Beach Santa Sunshine Coast", must book in your time and location.

EVENTS

Christmas Carols

6th Dec

5pm

Convention Centre, Novotel Sunshine Coast, Twin Waters

I am so glad someone is holding carols this year with only $5 entry. This is an affordable way to raise your Christmas spirits after the year we have had. There will be plenty of singing, a special visit by Santa, fireworks and a raffle. (bookings essential)

Christmas Quarter

Nightquarter, Birtinya

Various days from 6th – 20th Dec

5pm – 10pm

These adventures sound perfect! There is something for everyone. Two experiences to choose from; either explore a Christmas playground created for families, or enter the adult only zone with cocktails and some cheeky Christmas fun. You must go to fully experience what it’s really all about.

Christmas Light Cruises

1st – 30th December

Every day 6:30pm and 7pm

Sunshine Coast Afloat

There is always something to do on the water here in Sunshine Coast, and Christmas light Cruises is one activity not to be missed. There is just no better way to enjoy the Christmas Lights than cruising along the river and canals as dusk settles and looking at the waterfront properties of Mooloolaba, Minyama, and Buddina. These property owners along the water’s edge compete for the prize of best presented display. Each year they clearly pull out all stops to have a shot at first prize!

Christmas Canal Cruises

12th -23rd Dec

Every evening at 7pm

Mooloolaba Canal Cruises

Another option to see some of the well-lit and decorated homes by boat is the one-hour Christmas lights canal cruise on board the historic M.V. Mudjimba.

Movie Time

Majestic Cinema Nambour or Event Cinemas Kawana

3rd December

Both cinemas showing the movie ‘Christmas Jars’

The movie is based on the best-selling novel, “Christmas Jars”. It tells the story of Hope Jensen, a reporter who uncovers the remarkable secret behind a holiday phenomenon: money-filled glass jars anonymously given to people in need.

Twilight Christmas Train

11th and 18th December

5pm – 9pm

Historic Gympie Station, Tozer St

This Twilight Christmas train sounds like so much fun. Departing from the historic Gympie Station at 5pm for the rare opportunity to enjoy a journey at night. See the setting sun, before arriving at the historic Amamoor Station where there will be a bar, food and market stalls. Got kids? They are catered for with games and activities. Best still, there are fireworks at the end. Bookings are required.

SHOPPING

Peregian Beach Markets

29th November

7am - 12:30pm

Kingfisher Drive Peregian Beach

Shop till you drop and find that unique item for that someone special this Christmas at the Peregian Beach market. Even have a Christmas puppy parade this weekend. More then shopping there is lawn games, live music and the famous Peregian Surf Culb breaky BBQ.

Eumundi Christmas Twilight Market

4th December

4:30pm - 8:30pm

How perfect another market dedicated for those unique Christmas presents to give to friends and relatives that are hard to buy for. I mean we all have one. So go and support the local community and shop up.

Sadly, the Eumundi Christmas Extravaganza has already sold out. (There is a maximum of 800 people this year, thanks to Covid.) Unfortunately, we missed out, so we’ll have to wait until next year. If you’ve got a ticket already, don’t tell me! I’m jealous!

Just make sure you check the details of the above events and book in advance. I will keep you posted on more fun adventures and things to do around the Sunshine Coast in the next couple of weeks.

Don’t forget to book your accommodation early. All my listings, even the new ones, are nearly all booked out for December and January. Availability check the website www.coastalhostingnoosa.com
