Events of Noosa and surrounds....

It’s all happening in Noosa at the moment with the Noosa Festival of Surfing and Noosa Food and Eats festival. Seriously, that’s why I love Noosa; we get all the big events for the coast up here. We just had the Ultra Marathon 3 day event the weekend just gone and the Noosa Triathlon will be held later this year.

Back to what’s on....

Noosa Festival of Surfing

15th - 23rd May

The Noosa Festival of Surfing is celebrating its 30th year. It’s going to be a great event, even without the international surfers we are so used to.

If you want to join in the fun at the opening party held today 4-8pm, there are limited tickets for $160. It includes live music, a dj set and all inclusive drinks and canapés.

I’m excited about the Surfing Dogs event on Saturday 15th at 1:30-3pm at First Point. These pooches and their owners are such talented teams.

Seriously, go and support all the talented surfers competing every day from 7am at First Point. The categories are: open SUP, logger Pro, old Mal, family challenge, juniors, seniors, open, twin fin and team challenge and, of course, surfing dogs.

Not only is surfing happening, but also Chiggy’s Skate Fest is on in the Noosa Woods. There will be lots of free skate sessions, lessons, demos, and age-based contests. Make sure you book in as places are limited. And while you’re not skating or watching, take advantage of the food trucks, bar, the sponsor stalls, and the Red Bull DJ Truck.

And if art is your thing, check out the Noosa Surf Art Exhibition 2021 which is open 10am-6pm at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort.

When you are not participating in the above, why hang out at Solbar Noosa, the 10 day pop-up beach bar. It’s open every day 12pm-8pm on Noosa Main Beach. And if you want to kick on, head to KB’s Noosa After Parties 8pm - midnight at KB’s Nomads Noosa.

Gympie Show

13th-15th May

Gympie Show Day public holiday is today. There is so much fun to be had here for this three day event, so why not go show support to this country town and experience a true country show?

Planning Ahead…...

Noosa Eat and Drink Festival

10th -13th June

I’m only alerting you to this awesome festival as I don’t want you to miss out. Tickets are selling fast!!!! The line up of chefs are: Matt Moran, Colin Fassnidge, Laura Sharrad, Matt Sinclair, Alastair McLeod, Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan, Kirsten Tibballs, Anna Polyviou, George Calombaris. Due to Covid restrictions the festival is no longer as large as in previous years, but rest assured there will still be a festive vibe.

Noosa Tipis are back and will be the heart of the festival on the beach. If you want to be part of this event, it’s held on 13th June at 4pm. I know quite a few friends who are attending. It looks like lots of fun, especially when they sell it with ‘slip off your shoes, get your toes in the sand and join us for a beach sundowner under the Noosa Main Beach Tipis, hosted by Celebrity Chef Alastair McLeod’. This sounds to me like true Noosa style….barefoot fun times. I mean, I do try to keep my shoes on most of the time (unless at the beach), but my kids are growing up to be true shoeless Queenslander kids.

Media exposure this week

You might make the cut in the background when Channel 7 films the weather forecast for Sunrise at 7am this Sunday at Noosa main Beach.

And…

Watch Queensland Weekender this Sunday from 5:30pm on Channel 7 to be really inspired by Noosa and everything it has to offer.

Well, be sure to head to some of the fun events happening in Noosa this weekend and make the most of this amazing location and have a great weekend! Needing accommodation? Don’t forget we have plenty to offer and it is cheaper booking direct on the website or messaging me.
