Father's Day Suggestions

Massive news for all the AFL fans….the Grand Final is going to be played in Queensland for the first time ever!!  This is thanks to our Premier hosting most of the teams here for the season. I like how the St Kilda footy team, who are currently based in Noosa, are now called Noosa Saints.  On other (more pressing) news, as Father’s Day is this Sunday 6th September, I now must plan a wonderful day for my husband, and father to our kids.  I must come up with the best day ever and right now I have no plans and no bookings made ARRRGH!!.  Anyone else in the same boat?? Here are some places I am contemplating…....and I’m  hoping this blog will help you with suggestions.

EATERIES

Of course, the easiest thing to plan and do is eat out.

Double Shot Noosa – 3/239 Gympie Terrace Noosaville

Open 7am - 4pm

How about starting your day off with breaky out. I mean who really enjoys trying not to spill breaky in bed made by the kids?  Double Shot Noosa Café is open from 7am every day, and it is in a great spot opposite Noosa river.  I’m still yet to try it out, but from the photos, the food looks delicious...well presented and large sizes.

Pier 11 – Noosa Marina - 1a/2 Parkyn Ct, Tewantin

Breakfast 8am - 10:30am

Lunch from 11:30am onwards

Serving breakfast and lunch down at the Noosa Marina with amazing views overlooking the Noosa River.  If you book for lunch you will also get Noosa Jazz Party band playing.  The menu is the same but the charge is $25 a head on top of your meal and drinks.

The Captain's Daughter - 4 Heron St, Peregian Beach

Open 12pm - late

We love trying new eateries but we find ourselves going back to this place time and time again for the great value burgers and atmosphere.  It’s set in the Peregian Beach township, so take a stroll afterwards along the beach or watch the kids play at the playground while you relax in the sunshine.

Rick’s Garage - 14-16 Margaret St, Palmwoods

Open 10am - 8pm

Ricks Garage Diner is a restaurant that will transport visitors back to the 50’s. Inside, the walls and ceiling are plastered with retro posters and classic memorabilia, and out the front you can see the real deal – with vintage cars and bikes lining the street on any given day. Try the milkshakes and super-sized burgers.

StrEATside Market – The MET corner of First Ave and South Sea Islander Way, Maroochydore

Open 11am - 8pm

StrEATside Market looks like so much fun for Father’s Day or any Sunday until 27th Sep 11am to 8pm.  It is free to enter and you can relax on picnic rugs under the shade of the umbrellas.  Grab a bite to eat, do a spot of shopping, and then play a couple of rounds of the lawn games while listening to the live music.

Adventure Time with Dad

Want to get active after you have eaten too much?  Then try some of these suggestions...

Tree top Challenge - 76 Nambour Connection Road, Woombye (Next to the Big Pineapple)

Got a dad who loves adventure and adrenaline? Then why not take him to Tree Top Challenge?  It has 100 challenges and 12 ziplines in the trees at more than 25m above the ground.  Note: kids need to be 8 years old and over, and have min. height of 160 cm.

Bike Ride around Noosa

Noosa is so well signed with bike trails and lanes everywhere.  So why not work off overeating and go for a bike ride with the family.  I mean, it’s such a great way to see Noosa and all the waterways.

Want to get away from it all?  Then pack a picnic and head for the hills...

Picnic at a Waterfall

Why not pack your own gourmet lunch and head out to a waterfall and enjoy the surroundings?  The closest one is the Buderim Falls, but you could instead hike down to Kondalilla Falls in Montville or trek around the circuit at Mapleton Falls, which is where we went for Mother’s Day this year.

Mapleton Falls

Of course, don’t forget to check if you need to book your special event.  And, if you need an awesome gift idea, you can purchase a gift voucher for a night in one of our units.  We also provide money vouchers to put towards a stay in the future.  A voucher is a great gift for dads who do not live here in Noosa, but who want to come and visit someday.  Send me an email or call.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.
